Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available from a variety of sources.  A financial aid application must be completed to determine eligibility.

  • Tennessee Student Assistant Award
  • Federal Pell Grant, Federal Work Study
  • Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant (Lottery Scholarship)

Scholarships

Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills (Tennessee Lottery Scholarship Grant) Information:

  • Any Tennessee Resident at least 18 years or older or has a high school diploma/GED is eligible to apply for the Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant.
  • No minimum high school grade point average is required; NO ACT test required for admission (NOTE: Student must meet program admission requirements.)
  • Up to $1,250* per year is available for Wilder-Naifeh recipients.
  • Students can enroll as a full-time or part-time TTC student pursuing a diploma or certificate.
  • To maintain Wilder-Naifeh Grant students must simply maintain satisfactory academic progress ( a grade of ā€œCā€ or better and meet attendance requirements).
  • Caution! Any Individual who receives the Hope Scholarship is not eligible for the Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant. Hope Scholarship recipients who enroll in a community college or four year institution and drop out before completing their program cannot receive the Wilder-Naifeh Grant.

Next Steps:

  1. Contact the Tennessee Technology Center for FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
  2. Complete the FAFSA application and have it processed by May 1.

Note: Applications processed after May 1 will be accepted but preference will be given to those processed on or before May 1. Earlier is better! Don't delay in submitting your form.

Pell Grants

One of our largest federal student loan programs available to undergraduate students. This program provides free assistance to eligible applicants. The actual amount received depends on the financial information reported on the application, full-time or part-time status, period of enrollment, and cost of attendance.

(SEOG) FEDERAL STUDENT SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY GRANT:
Federal funds that are allotted to the school for grants to undergraduate students. Awards are based on information which is determined form the students financial aid application.

(TSAA) TENNESSEE STUDENT ASSISTANCE AWARD:
Funded by the state with federal assistance, grants are awarded by the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation. The amount of an award depends upon the expected family contribution and cost of attendance. To apply for this program, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid and submit prior to the application deadline.

(FWS) Federal Work-Study
This program is designed to allow students to earn money by performing campus based duties. The rate of pay is minimum wage paid monthly. Eligibility is based on individual financial need which is reported on the student's financial aid application.

TECH PREP SCHOLARSHIP:
TTC-PULASKI offers a limited number of scholarships for students participating in area high school Tech Prep courses. Applications can be obtained from high school guidance counselors or the Student Services Department at TTC-Pulaski. For deadline information contact the Student Services Office at TTC-Pulaski.

Other Programs

(WIA) WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT:
Funded and approved by the federal government for many areas of vocation technical training. Eligible students may receive assistance toward expenses directly related to training such as books, tuition, and uniforms. A WIA coordinator is available to direct students in applying for the program.


VETERANS ADMINISTRATION BENEFITS:
TTC offers courses which are approved by the State Approving Agency for Veterans benefits. Veterans can apply for benefits through the Student Services Department or contact VA personnel in Nashville at 1-800-827-1000.

TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION:
Designed to provide financial assistance to those students who are physically or mentally disabled. Eligible students may receive assistance toward their educational expenses such as book, tuition, supplies, etc. The Students Services Department will direct interested students in applying for this program.
